Dr. Ravi Rao is a pioneering bariatric surgeon with a remarkable record of success in weight-loss, general surgery, and revisional procedures. Dr. Rao leads our team and personally ensures that every patient at Perth Surgical & Bariatrics receives world-class treatment, safety and care.

In addition to specializing in various minimally-invasive bariatric procedures like the Sleeve gastrectomy, various gastric bypass procedures like the Roux-en-Y gastric bypassSIPS (SADI-S) Surgery etc and revisional bariatric surgical operations, Dr. Rao performs Abdominoplasty and Brachioplasty for his weight loss patients. Dr. Rao also performs laparoscopic general surgeries such as gall bladder surgery, all types of complex abdominal hernias, fundoplications or antireflux surgery.

Dr. Rao is a GESA accredited endoscopist and performs gastroscopy and colonoscopies.

Ravi’s practice, Perth Surgical Bariatrics, is based at St John of God Mount Lawley Hospital, where he provides minimally invasive advanced laparoscopy and bariatrics.

He has a formal Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy and Bariatrics through the Fellow Council of the United States of America, the following study at the Atlanta Medical Centre in Georgia.

Ravi was mentored by the renowned Dr. Titus Duncan, MD, FACS in minimally invasive general and weight loss surgery. His bariatric scope of practice includes laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and various types of gastric bypass and revision surgeries. He has pioneered the SIPS (SADI-S) procedure in WA and so far his patients have had good and safe results.
